Portrait FAQs
What Can I Expect from My Portrait Session?
-
We will meet at our chosen location at the time discussed, and get to work creating memories.
-
2-3 weeks after your session, you will receive a gallery with fully edited files to select your images from. Each session comes with a set number of images to download. Can't decide? You can always upgrade to the full gallery!

What Should I Wear?
-
Keep clothing simple. Try to choose solid colors for your photo session.
-
Dress mom first, then build the rest of the family around her outfit. If mom is comfortable, everyone else will be too.
-
Remember that text on shirts may not be visible in the photos.
-
Make sure you coordinate your family's clothing from head to toe for any full-length pose. Yes, socks and shoes will show!
-
Darker clothing slims. Choose shades of black, brown, blue, dark green and other jewel-toned colors.
-
Scoops or v-necks flatter shorter necks and full faces. Turtlenecks or high-necked garments flatter longer necks and slender faces.
-
Keep clothing consistent, but not matchy-matchy. Dress everyone in the same style. Don't mix casual and formal clothing in photos.

Relax!
-
We will get beautiful images that capture your family as they are right now! Don't stress about perfect hair and perfect smiles. I promise, in 10 years you will want to capture your kids just like they are today.
-
I will work to have fun during the session!

Props and Backgrounds
-
Ask your photographer for advice. If you're not sure what you want in your photos, I can help you choose a background that suits your needs.
-
Feel free to go through my gallery to see what images you love. We can try to coordinate those same ideas into your portrait session.
-
Add in your personality. Bring your own props for a personal touch. Consider items such as baby blanket, stuffed animal, or a special toy.
